Markup can hand Google organisation details. A Knowledge Panel is built from the Knowledge Graph’s understanding of an entity, not from a JSON-LD block.
What is a Knowledge Panel?
A panel assembled from Google’s Knowledge Graph about an entity. It can show facts, official links and related entities beside or above the blue links.
What can structured data do?
Organization and Person markup, with consistent names and sameAs pointers, can make the claim on the page machine-readable. That is recognition and disambiguation.
What is this based on?
There is no Google procedure that says: add this markup, receive this panel. Presence of a panel, its facts and its dominance in the SERP are not Search Console metrics that structured-data reports control.
What should you do instead of chasing a panel with JSON-LD?
Keep the entity unambiguous. Point sameAs at identities that exist outside the site. Treat a panel, if it appears, as a Knowledge Graph event – not as proof that schema worked.
